What Is MIP? What Is MIP LED Wall?

MIP (Micro LED en paquete) en la industria de pantallas LED es una tecnología de empaque a nivel de chip. Su proceso es el siguiente: los microchips LED se transfieren a la placa portadora a través de la tecnología de transferencia masiva, se empaquetan, se cortan en paquetes pequeños y luego se dividen y mezclan BIN y se graban.

COB LED display stands for “Chip on Board” LED display, which is a new technology used in LED screen manufacturing.

El chip se monta directamente en la placa PCB, rompiendo la limitación de espacio físico del proceso de empaquetado SMD tradicional y logrando la posibilidad de un paso más pequeño.

Alta fiabilidad

El chip se suelda directamente a la placa PCB, lo que elimina la necesidad de unir cables. El área de soldadura es más de 6 veces mayor que la tradicional, lo que puede soportar corrientes más altas y el producto se vuelve más confiable.

What are the advantages of COB LED displays compared with traditional SMD LED displays?

  • Protection: COB LED displays are generally more robust than SMD (without GOB) displays.   • Uniform Light Distribution: Due to the closer packing of LEDs in COB technology, these displays often exhibit more uniform light distribution and better color consistency. This results in smoother images with fewer hotspots and shadowing effects.

  • Reduced Glare and Light Reflection: COB displays can provide softer light output with reduced glare and reflection, which is advantageous in environments where viewers may be close to the screen or in settings sensitive to light pollution.

  • Viewing Angle: COB technology typically offers wider viewing angles compared to traditional SMD. This is due to the lack of a separate package for each diode, which can sometimes limit viewing angles in SMD LEDs.

  • Contrast Ratio: The encapsulation in COB technology can lead to higher contrast ratios, as it reduces stray light and improves the black levels of the display.
However, it’s important to note that SMD technology has its own set of advantages, such as being well-established in the market, offering versatility across a wide range of applications, and generally being more cost-effective than COB. The choice between COB and SMD depends on the specific requirements of the application, including budget, resolution needs, environmental conditions, and viewing distances.
